Theme Park News
Disney Special Offer
The 14 days for the price of 7 Disney offer ends on the 29th March 2017
A brand new theme park that is being dubbed as the UK version of Disneyland worth £3.5 billion is all ready to open its doors to the masses by the year 2022.
This Paramount theme park would be the first of its kind.
It would be developed close to Dartford, Kent and would feature over 50 rides and attractions, and even a theatre that houses 2,000 seats. Paramount is the California studio that was instrumental for some of the most renowned blockbusters of Hollywood including Forrest Gump, Iron Gump, the Transformer series and Titanic.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
From March 11, Rivers of Light will be performed twice nightly on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. On March 11, “Rivers of Light” will be offered at 7:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., but Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will still close at 8 p.m.
Moving forward, due to daylight saving time, Rivers of Light will be offered on those nights at 8:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. On nights when Rivers of Light is performed, the park will be closing to Guests at 9:30 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. as originally scheduled.
Flower & Garden Festival EPCOT
The 2017 International Flower & Garden Festival returned to the Epcot on March 1.
During this exciting event, Guests visiting the theme park can enjoy amazing topiaries, colourful flower beds, and even some delectable food and beverage options. As part of this photo-gallery, you will be able to see most of the topiaries that have been installed around the park. In addition to that, we will check out what's new around Future World and World Showcase. We hope you will enjoy this virtual tour of the park.
La Nouba & Disney Quest Closing
While it has only been a few weeks since Disney announced the mid-2017 closure of indoor attraction DisneyQuest, it looks like the West Side of Disney Springs will be losing yet another long-time occupant at the end of the year. After nearly two decades, it has been announced that Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba will be closing for good later this year, with its last performance ever taking place on New Year's Eve, December 31st, 2017.
No updates have been shared yet about if new occupants might be coming to this building (or whether Cirque du Soleil is working on a new show for this venue), but we'd imagine that details are being worked on at this moment, and there will hopefully be a concrete announcement about what the future holds for this huge performance space at Disney Springs' West Side.
For guests wanting to get a final viewing of La Nouba in before the end of the year, Disney is offering some great deals and discounts during this show's final run at Disney Springs.
Avatar Flight of Passage
As you might have already heard, the flagship ride in Pandora – The World of Avatar will be Avatar - Flight of Passage, which is a thrilling new attraction that allows guests to board a two-person Banshee and go on an exciting adventure through the hills and valleys of Pandora. And as you might expect from the ride description, this new attraction has a heavy emphasis on thrills, and as such will have a pretty big height restriction, requiring riders to be 44 inches or higher.
Though this isn’t the highest height restriction at Walt Disney World (that honor goes to the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which requires guests to be at least 48 inches), this new ride joins other thrilling “big kid” attractions like Expedition Everest, Mission: Space and Space Mountain with this height restriction. However, if you’re thinking about skipping Pandora – The World of Avatar because you have small children, you might want to reconsider.
Na’vi River Journey
As expected, the Na’Vi River Journey boat ride will join other similar attractions like the Jungle Cruise, It’s a Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean as yet another ride with no height restriction. This gentle attraction will bring guests down a mysterious river where the full beauty of Pandora will reveal itself.
According to the official attraction description, guests who experience this attraction will climb aboard a specially-designed reed boat and slowly drift downstream into the heart of Pandora. After coasting through a series of caves, and passing by exotic glowing plants and amazing creatures of the rainforest, riders will then come face-to-face with the Na’vi Shaman of Songs, who will demonstrate her deep connection to the life force of Pandora—and send positive energy out into the forest through the power of her music.
Miss Adventure Falls
Though it was announced last year (and had its name changed a few months later) it has been confirmed that Miss Adventure Falls, the new family-friendly ride at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will be opening in just a few days on March 12th. And interestingly, this new attraction has some connections to a classic Disney film that you may have forgotten about.
Water is Life. Life is Joy. That's the philosophy celebrated at Universal's Volcano Bay™ water theme park. It's the carefree attitude the fabled Waturi islanders have embraced on their Pacific isle for centuries. Now you can live the Waturi way at this all-new park where thrills and relaxation flow in perfect harmony.
With the power of the TapuTapu™ wearable, there’s no standing in long lines, carrying rafts around the park, nothing between you and a full day of fun. It’s an all-new kind of paradise, just steps away from everything Universal Orlando Resort™ has to offer.
Grand Opening May 25.
Some of the most loved Nintendo characters and worlds are set to jump out of the computer screen and into the theme park when Universal unveils three new realms over the coming years at its properties in the USA and Japan.
